This wonderful, Limoges box is a Tower of London guard, also known as a Beefeater, dressed in the ceremonial, red, Tudor State uniform, standing in a brown 'wooden' guard post. The Tower, a well known London landmark, has been used as a castle and a prison, although it is currently the repository for the British crown jewels. A crown is the clasp. The box is .9" by 1.1" with a height of 3.1". "Limoges France - Peint Main" with the artist's initials is on the bottom.
