This lovely, limited edition, Limoges box is a Toulouse-Lautrec poster of the "Moulin Rouge", with famed can-can dancer "Jane Avril." The poster was actually commissioned by Avril, in 1893, as an advertisement for her show at the Jardin de Paris, another Parisian cabaret. It is painted in red, yellow, and black, with 22KT gold detailing. The clasp is a very large, elaborate urn, with vines of leaves and flowers, and "Jardin de Paris" is written inside. It is 1.8" by 2.75" with a height of .6". "Peint Main - Limoges France - 138/999" with the artist's initials is on the bottom.
