This beautiful, Limoges box is an African elephant, with his trunk up, painted in teal/turquoise fishnet, in the style of Herend. He has solid colored ears, and the tusks, tail and toes are detailed in 22KT gold. Leaf stalks are painted on the base and side. An elephant is the clasp, and a clump of leaves is painted inside. The box has a diameter of 1.3" with a height of 2". "Peint Main - Limoges France" with the artist's initials is on the bottom.
