This beautiful, limited edition, French Home, Limoges box depicts Paris' best known landmark, the Eiffel Tower, in red with 22KT gold grill work, in celebration of the Chinese New Year. I was surprised to learn that it is a big event in Paris. Red flood lights color the Eiffel Tower. Parades and lion and dragon dances are held in districts throughout the city. The box has two people and gold stars on the observation deck, and bursts of exploding white and gold fireworks, on the midnight blue base. An Asian lady with a parasol is the clasp, and inside is a parade with a dragon. The box is 1.8" by 2.8" with a height of 3.8". On the bottom is: "Peint Main - Limited Edition - No 96/500 - Jacques - French Home - Limoges France."
