This scenic, Halcyon Days Enamels box has an 1885 view of Jackson Square, a park in New Orleans' French Quarter, which was made a National Historic Landmark in 1960, because it is the site where Louisiana was made a U. S. territory with the Louisiana Purchase, in 1803.  In the center is an equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson, hero of the Battle of New Orleans in 1815,  and the seventh U. S. President.  Behind it is St. Louis Cathedral.  To the left is the Cabildo, the old city hall, now a museum, where the final version of the Louisiana Purchase was signed; to the right is the Presbytere, built to house church officials, it is also a museum now.  Inside is the statue and "Jackson Square New Orleans, Louisiana."  The box is 1.4" by 2" with a height of .9".  "Designed by Halcyon Days Enamels - London - Made in England" with " Bilston & Battersea Enamels" in the center and "Waldhorn Company, Inc." are on the light blue base.  PLEASE CHECK MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE BOXES - I'LL BE LISTING  ADDITIONAL ONES LATER IN THE WEEK.   PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN.
