This LARGE, lovely, Halcyon Days Enamels box is a beige Tang Dynasty horse on a dappled orange background. Figures like this were made during the Chinese Tang Dynasty (618 - 906 A. D.). The horse was a symbol of wealth and power. Small ones were decorative, and large ones were tomb guardians. "Tomb Model of a Horse", "Chinese Tang Dynasty" and "Ashmolean Museum, Oxford" are written inside. The box has a diameter of 2.3" with a height of 1.2". "Halcyon Days Enamels - England - Bilston & Battersea Enamels Revival" and "Ashmolean Museum, Oxford" are on the bottom. It comes with the presentation case.
