This wonderful, Crummles, enamel box depicts the well known, English department store circa 1851, when it moved to Brompton Rd in Knightsbridge. It was small shop that burned to the ground in 1881, and was rebuilt and expanded. On top is a rope bordered sign with "HARRODS", the store windows, a tree, a cobblestone street, shoppers, and a horse drawn carriage, with a vine of yellow primroses bordering the scene. Inside is a monochromatic drawing of primroses and two cherubs holding a banner with "H. C. HARROD THE LITTLE SHOP IN KNIGHTSBRIDGE." It has a diameter of 1.7" with a height of 1.1".
